A SERIES of road improvements are to take place in rural Fylde. Area that are being targeted include Treales, Newton, Kirkham and Wesham.
In Kirkham there are plans to undertake surface slurry sealing treatment to footways in Ward Street, Fylde Street, Ribby Road, Moor Street, Swarbrick Street and Orders Lane, and Poulton Street and other streets will be assessed for possible future footway works.
There will be slurry treatment to footways in Wesham as well and re-kerbing, with some additional dropped pedestrian crossings where work allows, on Garstang Road South, Segar Street, Railway Terrace, Charnock Street, Thompson Street, Rawlinson Street, Porter Street East, Billington Street East, Garstang Road North/Station Road.
A mound is to be put in at the mini roundabout at the junction of Station Road and Derby Road along with signage to warn traffic of the roundabout.
The villages are also part of the improvements and in Treales, Kirkham Road, will be re-surfaced and in Newton with Clifton more dropped kerbs will be installed on Oak Lane, Meadow Close and Bryning Lane/School Lane as well as the carriageway on Preston Old Road and Meadow Close being resurfaced/patched.
