Meet the new landlord and landlady of the Station Tavern in Lytham, Debbie Blackshaw and Simon Mailings, who have a big date coming up next month and will always look with particular affection on the pub where they are now hosts.

For it was the scene of their first date – and they are getting married next month with the music set to be provided by the same band which was playing on that memorable evening.

“We had known each other as friends for years and have worked together previously at the Station,” said Debbie. “But our first kiss was here and The Deadbeats were playing that night so we have asked them back to play at our reception at the Clifton Arms Hotel.

“We are thrilled to have taken over the Station and have some big plans. There is a refurbishment set for the New Year.”
