A popular Fylde coast swimming baths has closed for around four months as part of a major refurbishment.

St Annes YMCA Pool will remain shut until the new year as it undergoes a £625,000 redevelopment.

The modernisation, being funded to the tune of £500,000 by Sport England, £100,000 from the YMCA and £25,000 from Fylde Council, will include a new café and spectator viewing area, new family-friendly changing village, modernised entrance and reception.

Dave Lean, director of leisure for YMCA in Fylde, said: “YMCA members can use our other facilities in Fylde and Wyre as part of their membership and we are extremely grateful for their support and understanding during this time.” The pool will re-open on January 6.
