Pensioner suffers 'major trauma' in collision with tram in Cleveleys

She was 'conscious and breathing' however, with a helicopter scrambled alongside a rapid response car and ambulance to help her.

Hide AdThe first paramedic arrived on the scene in four minutes, the spokeswoman added.
It was later confirmed the woman was flown to Royal Preston Hospital, which specialises in head injuries, from Jubilee Gardens where the air ambulance landed.
Her family was notified.
Police said the accident happened outside the HSBC bank, with officers called out at 11.53am.
Pictures taken at the scene showed the area taped and coned off, with a heavy police presence.

Hide AdOfficers appear to have launched an investigation into the crash, and were pictured examining a middle section of the tram involved.
Lancashire's Road Policing Unit tweeted: "Serious collision in Cleveleys at Victoria Square. Please avoid the area. Thank you for your patience"
Trams were terminating at Little Bispham, Blackpool Transport said, and the one, three, and four bus services were being diverted round the back of the bus station, via Nutter Road.
The road was re-opened at around 2pm.
Sally Shaw from Blackpool Transport was unable to say how many passengers were on the tram at the time of the crash, but said there were no reports of any other injuries.
She pledged a 'full investigation', with officials set to examine CCTV footage and the driver's logs.
"We are seeking to gather as much information as we can," she said.
