This is it folks - the ten finalists in the 2015 Fleetwood Scarecrow Festival!
Organisers have been overwhelmed with entries and had a tricky job narrowing it down to find the best of the crop.
Now it’s up to readers to make the decision and vote for their favourite.
In only its second year, the festival has really caught the imagination of the town.
Designed to increase footfall to Fleetwood from visitors wanting to come and see the festival, it is hoped the economy will receive a boost from the extra trade.
But not only that, the scarecrows provide a unique spectacle at the peak of the summer season in Fleetwood as Tram Sunday gets underway this week and the SpareParts Arts Festival which runs alongside it and then for next weekend’s big Fleetwood Memorial Park Fun Day.
In only it’s second year, the festival has been a big success and we are already thinking bigger and better for next year – we would love local businesses to do the same
And next week the judges are in town from Britain in Bloom to judge Fleetwood’s entry.
Last year the judges actually asked for the scarecrow festival to coincide with competititon to create an added element to Fleetwood’s entry.
Sophie Wells, who helps co-ordinate the festival said: “In only it’s second year, the festival has been a big success and we are already thinking bigger and better for next year – we would love local businesses to do the same’
“It has created a real talking point within the town and I’m sure it will gain even more momentum in future years’
“There are some who have really got the bug and are already planning next year’s creations.
“We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has ‘Got Stuffing’ and been involved!”
