AMBITIOUS plans to build new tennis and squash facilities in St Annes have been revealed.

The leisure facility would be part of Kensington Developments' plans for new, quality housing at Queensway.
A proposal has been made to relocate St Annes tennis and squash club – currently at Avondale Road – to Queensway, which is earmarked for 1,150 new homes.
Talks are still at a preliminary stage, although it has been revealed that both indoor and outdoor facilities are in the pipeline.
A joint statement released by Kensington and the tennis club said: "A key aspect of the move would be for the club to build new facilities for indoor tennis and squash, together with many outdoor courts, from the sale of their existing premises.
"Unlike many clubs, St Annes owns its two acre site on a freehold basis, thanks to the foresight of the England family, who were figureheads at the club in the post-war period.
"These ambitious plans are a long way from fruition and will be the subject of planning applications and the agreement of club members."
The club currently has 450 members, who use the nine outdoor hard courts and three squash courts.
Officials at the club said they would be talking to members about the plans, but that they would hope to get more members from the new area, if the move went ahead, while retaining as many original members as possible.
It is believed a planning application to relocate the club to Queensway will be made to Fylde Council in the near future.
If approval is given for the relocation, it is thought Lytham-based Kensington will then make an offer to the club for its Avondale Road premises.
The planned housing estate, on land off the Queensway, will also include completing the much-needed M55 to Heyhouses Link Road.
