KIRKHAM Boss Mick Fuller has won the Vodkat League Division Two manager of the Month award for December after his side went on a six game winning run and unbeaten throughout the festive month (writes Howard Jones).
Fuller, who has seen his side move up to second place in the Vodkat League standings and reach the Fourth Round of the FA Vase with a fantastic 5-2 win

at Newcastle Benfield, said: "These awards are more for the way the club has performed than for myself.
"There are a number of people on the bench too who have contributed to this just as much as l have and l'd like to think that they understand that too."

Fuller of course was referring to coach Colin Methven, 'keeper coach Neil Mitchell and physio Mark Atkinson - all important parts of the Kirkham success machine that has seen the club make a solid bid in league and cup on two fronts having also made it through to the third round of the Second

Division Trophy in the month.
He said: "Awards though can only be won if the players take on board what we tell them.
"During the month they have been tremendous."
Kirkham travel to Stone Dominoes in the Potteries on Saturday (3pm) in a bid to close further the gap between themselves in second place and runaway

leaders New Mills.
But the Derbyshire outfit didn't play last weekend when their game was postponed and on?Saturday face a tough test when Oldham Town visit them who

are currently third in the Vodkat North West Counties League Two standings.
For Kirkham though full focus will be on the Stone fixture with boss Mick Fuller hoping to recall one of the clubs top stars after layoff.

Fuller said:"We are hopeful that club skipper Dougie Shaw will if nothing else be on the bench at Stone after his knee injury."

Kirkham hammered Stone at Kellamergh Park back in August 4-1, but boss Fuller admits that the score on the day rather flattered them.

He said: "Stone looked a useful side at times that day but our finishing as the key factor."
