FA VASE winners AFC Fylde start the new season in the Vodkat Premier Division this Saturday with a home clash with Maine Road at Kellamergh Park.

Manager Mick Fuller has had some big decisions to make in recent weeks with a number of new faces including new signings Scott McNiven, Joe Booth, Kyle Ingham, Martin Moran and Steve Palmer adding competition for places to his squad which achieved great things last season.
Add to that former Blackpool FC pair Jamie Burns and Matt Lawler who have impressed on trial in pre season and Fuller has unenviable task of selecting a side that is looking to keep the momentum of promotion and cup exploits going for the 2008-2009 campaign.
A mixed pre season finished last Saturday with a 3-2 home defeat to Unibond League side Curzon Ashton, another game where the manager feels they have benefited from playing teams from a higher level.
"Our pre season programme has provided us with a number of challenges where we have not had everything our own way, I would like to think that competing against sides from higher leagues has prepared the team mentally and physically for the challenges that are ahead of us during the next nine months.
"It goes without saying that to achieve any ambition you have to be competitive, there is always room for improvement in everything that we do, the influx of new players as I see it is a refinement or fine tuning of the capability that we already have."
Match day admission for the game is £5 adults, £3 seniors (over 60) and £2 under 8-15-year-olds, under 8s are free if accompanied by an adult.
n AFC Fylde are also launching a dedicated AFC Fylde Supporters Travel service to away games in the league at Nelson Wednesday, August 13, Leek CSOB (FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round) Saturday, August 16, and Silsden on Wednesday, August 20. To book call the club on 01253 794555.
