Mick takes break before Wembley

WHILE FA Vase Cup fever hits the towns of Kirkham and Wesham this week, manager Mick Fuller is taking a complete break from football ahead of Sunday's lucrative Wembley clash with Lowestoft Town.
Fuller, who has already guided his side to promotion from the Vodkat League North West Counties League Two and won the Second Division Trophy in recent weeks, will try to make it a unique treble on Sunday at the home of English football.
He said: "Its been a hectic end to the season for us and with eight days between our last game and Wembley l'm really trying not to think about it.
"You can worry yourself sick about this tournament like l did against Needham Market.
"I was waking up at three o'clock in the morning and thinking this is no good.
"I'm sure it will hit me on Friday when we depart for Wembley, but until then l'm trying to relax and gather my thoughts."
Fuller has already reduced his squad down from 25 to 18 ahead of Friday's departure and that's not been easy.
He added: "I'm now obviously thinking about the side l'll play, who the five substitutes will be and discussing matters with Colin (Methven) and Easty (Paul Eastwood).
"Three heads are better than one but it's not easy. A number of players will be very disappointed, but ultimately l can only play 11 and three subs.
"At the moment l'm not over excited about the day but that will come and I guess will hit us on Friday around 1.30pm when we walk out at Wembley."
Fuller's side will depart from Market Square on the England team coach around 10am on Friday (tomorrow) and head straight for the new Stadium at Wembley.
"Hopefully we'll get a chance to test the hallowed turf and then we will train on the Saturday around midday."
Kirkham's final preparations will go ahead too at England's famous training complex at Bisham Abbey and the players team coach will finally set off for the stadium around noon on Sunday.
"We don't want to get there too early," said the Kirkham boss.
Football legends Sir Tom Finney, ex-PNE and England and former England and
Blackpool captain Jimmy Armfield OBE will accompany the team to Wembley as guests of the club.
President David Haythornthwaite said: "To have Sir Tom and Jimmy along is fantastic for a little club like ours.
"We are honoured to have them along and I'm sure that they will enjoy the day with us."
Fans are backing the club too, and while it's likely that they will be outnumbered by Lowestoft supporters five to one, the club has made massive strides in recent weeks with more than 25 coaches set to depart the town centre on Sunday morning.
Fans can still pick up last minute souvenirs too over the weekend as the club shop in Poulton Street stays open all day Saturday and then again from 6am on Sunday ahead of the mass exodus that should lay the towns of Kirkham and Wesham as ghost towns.
"That would be nice," said Fuller.
"The support aspect is important for the lads and I'm sure a lot of people will decide to go down in their own cars on Sunday to support us."
Following Sunday's final the club will return with or without the FA Vase to a massive reception from fans in a post match open top bus parade which is set to depart Market Square at 6pm on Monday (May 12).
While the season will close and the club will play its final game under the Kirkham and Wesham banner on Sunday at Wembley, Fuller has also made plans to play a number of big name sides in pre-season games, both at Kellamergh Park and on the road in late July and early August.
As the newly named AFC Fylde side they will likely host Blackpool, Fleetwood Town and Bamber Bridge, while setting up a trip to play Arngrove
Northern League side Whitley Bay.
