FYLDE'S young boxing star Scott Cardle has scooped yet another award.
Scott was presented with the prestigious 2007 OCS Young Sports Person Award at a ceremony in London.
This is the second big award for Scott in recent months.
Last month, Scott was named as the North West Regional Winner in the prestigious 2007 OCS Young Sports Person Awards, where he picked up a cheque for £2,500
The young boxing prodigy has now capped off an impressive year after becoming the only junior boxer in Great Britain to win two major titles - the British Title at The National Association of Clubs for Young People's finals and his third consecutive Junior ABA title.
Scott, 18, also made the Great Britain Olympic Development Squad earlier this year.
He prepares for every bout by running over sand dunes and making at least two or three trips to the gym every day
Having captained the England Cadet team in the World Championships, the young boxer is now determined to represent England at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, and Great Britain at the Olympic Games in 2012.
Presented his award by WBC World light welterweight champion Junior Witter, Scott's OCS Award includes a funding package worth £10,000 over three years and additional £2,500 for his club.
Scott's dad Joe Cardle is delighted for his son.
He said: "As you can imagine we're all on cloud nine!
"It's been a great week, with Scott winning his international at the England v Ireland contest in London."
OCS chief executive Chris Cracknell said the award is in recognition of outstanding potential and commitment.
He said: "We believe this year's winners deserve recognition for their commitment to their sport and their determination to succeed.
"We hope these Awards will help them on their way to a podium place at the highest level of competition.
