Rugby Club makes a dinner date with World Cup star Mark

AN England World Cup winner is set to make an appearance at Fylde Rugby Club.
Mark Regan MBE, will be speaking at a special lunch on Friday to help raise funds for the club’s new academy and community rugby programme

The legendary hooker is a cult figure in his home city of Bristol and is well known for having an infectious personality that inspires players around him.

The club’s community programme is designed to encourage youngsters of all abilities to play rugby.

These children and others from local rugby-playing schools will all be able to have access to Fylde’s academy system.

Michael Brennand, chairman of Fylde RFC, said: “I am delighted to announce we have secured legendary English hooker and larger-than-life personality, Mark Regan MBE

“This lunch is specifically to raise funds for the Fylde Academy and the club’s community rugby programme.

He added: “The Academy will develop a new generation of top quality young players with the ability to excel in national rugby.

“Particularly gifted youngsters between the ages of 11 and 19, from Fylde junior teams will receive specially devised fast-track coaching and development.”
