A BEST-selling author is heading to Fylde to showcase her literary talents.
New Yorker Jodi Picoult, who shot to fame after her books were showcased by TV hosts Richard and Judy, will meet fans at a literary lunch event at the Grand Hotel in St Annes and introduce her new book Handle with Care.

Elaine Silverwood, from SilverDell bookshop and ice cream parlour in Kirkham, which has organised the event, said: "It's such a coup to have great names coming to the Fylde. Jodi is only doing a handful of shows in the UK so the fact that she is coming here is big news.

"It's a chance for her fans to hear from the woman herself about her experiences, her writing and about what makes her tick and inspires her. It really is a unique opportunity."

Jodi Picoult grew up in Nesconset, New York, and has established herself as the UK's number one bestselling women's fiction author.

She has written a total of fifteen novels and arguably her most famous, My Sister's Keeper is being made into a film starring Cameron Diaz.

Her latest book, Handle With Care explores the relationship betweeb medical ethics and personal morality.

The event will be held on May 5 costs £37.50, including a copy of Handle with Care, canapes, a two course lunch and a talk by Jodi.
Tickets can be bought from SilverDell on Poulton Street or by calling (01772) 683444.
