VISITORS rushed for cover when a torrential downpour brought the latest farmers' market in St Annes Square to a halt on Thursday.
Richard Tomlinson, 28, who has taken over the running of the event, said: "We got a bit of a downpour before the market started and the stallholders got a bit of a soaking, then of all of a sudden from 9am-1pm it was fine and dry and we had another good turnout, then about 1.30pm the heavens opened."

The lamb farmer from Salwick said: "It's been going for seven or eight years now. Farmers' markets tend to burn out after five years, we seem to be weathering that storm thanks to the people of Lytham St Annes."
