Man jailed after cosmetics theft

A MAN has been jailed after stealing cosmetics from retailers in St Annes and Poulton.
Robert Tarrant, 25, of Brun Grove, Marton, Blackpool, pleaded guilty to three thefts, failing to provide a sample for drug testing and not answering bail.

He was sentenced to 32 weeks imprisonment by Blackpool magistrates who described him as a persistent offender from whom the public needed protection.

Kirsten McAteer, prosecuting, said Tarrant took £1,422-worth of cosmetics from Boots in St Annes on March 9.

He later stole cosmetics valued at £240 from the Co-op Pharmacy, Poulton on March 14 and took £483-worth of cosmetics from Boots, St Annes on March 18.

Michael Ball, defending, told magistrates: "He does not strike me as the sort of person you
