A 24-YEAR-OLD woman died after falling downstairs in a tragic accident at a flat in St Annes this week.
Police are investigating the incident which happened on Richmond Road on Tuesday morning.
Ambulance crews were called to the flat at about 6.30am.
Paramedics tried to resuscitate the woman but failed and police were called.
A neighbour, who asked to be named as just Billy, said: “I saw a lot of police in the morning about 8.30am. I thought it was a drugs deal or something.
“I don’t know her, but I know someone that does. She was an attractive girl.
“As far as I know she fell downstairs.”
He added: “Her boyfriend is a traveller who delivers all over the UK.”
Another neighbour who lived in the same apartment building where the accident happened said she did not wish to talk about the incident.
However she said the woman did not live there but had been staying there.
There was no answer at the flat yesterday morning.
Det Insp Frank Walmsley said: "We are currently investigating the death of a 24-year-old female.
“Conclusions have been made the death is not suspicious.
“The incident bears the hallmarks of a tragic accident. It appears the young lady has fallen down the stairs.”
