Strike disruption 'will be kept to minimum'
FYLDE residents are being reassured that disruption to council services will be kept to a minimum during this week's national industrial action.
Although Fylde Borough Council faces a reduced workforce as a result of a scheduled strike on July 16 and 17, very few services will be directly affected.
Cllr Tim Ashton, Cabinet Member for Streetscene, said: "The reduced number of staff working at the council will affect the delivery of many of Fylde's services, but one of the main ones that will impact immediately on residents is the collection of waste.
"We are therefore planning to minimise disruption by collecting all black sacks and grey bins as scheduled over the two days, picking up any missed bins on the Friday and Saturday, if required
"There will be no recycling or green waste collections on those two days and all material will be collected on the next scheduled recycling collection, July 30 and 31."
The customer service centre Fylde Direct will be open for phone calls but closed for face to face vists.
