FYLDE residents are being reassured that disruption to council services will be kept to a minimum during this week's national industrial action.
Although Fylde Borough Council faces a reduced workforce as a result of a scheduled strike on July 16 and 17, very few services will be directly affected.

Cllr Tim Ashton, Cabinet Member for Streetscene, said: "The reduced number of staff working at the council will affect the delivery of many of Fylde's services, but one of the main ones that will impact immediately on residents is the collection of waste.

"We are therefore planning to minimise disruption by collecting all black sacks and grey bins as scheduled over the two days, picking up any missed bins on the Friday and Saturday, if required

"There will be no recycling or green waste collections on those two days and all material will be collected on the next scheduled recycling collection, July 30 and 31."

The customer service centre Fylde Direct will be open for phone calls but closed for face to face vists.

The services below will be operational during the two days of industrial action

The call centre will be open as normal (01253 658658)
Grey bins and black bags will be collected in Fylde and Wyre
The cleansing service at Fylde will be operating a reduced service
Both of the swimming pools will be open
The Town Hall Reception will be open
Lowther Pavilion will be operating as normal
The cemetery and crematorium will be operating as normal
The car parking services will be operating as normal
The Tourist Information Center will be closed on Thursday but open Wednesday
The game sites will be operational
Fairhaven lake will be operating as normal
