A WOMAN has been arrested on suspicion of setting fire to a house in St Annes after she had an argument.
Two engines from St Annes fire Station were called to an address on Coniston Avenue just before 11pm on Thursday night after reports of a house ablaze

Flames destroyed a bedroom and its contents, and caused further damage to another 3 rooms on the first floor of the property.

Police were also called to the address because of reports of a domestic disturbance.

Two people were led to safety by firefighters, although the woman had at first refused to leave the house.

Watch Manager Steve Boyne of St Annes Fire Brigade said: "Two fire engines from St Annes attended the house where the bedroom was on fire. The two occupants were led away and breathing apparatus was used.
"There was severe fire damage to the bedroom and smoke logging throughout the property."

And he said the incedent should act as a stark warning for other householders on the Fylde.

"There were smoke detectors in the fitted by the fire service but the batteries had actually been forced from them."
"Smoke detectors save more lives than we do - and I would remind anyone who wants one fitted that they can contact their local fire station and have it done for free."

An full investigation is now underway by both Police and Fire Service.
