There will be Latin American music, Caipirinha cocktails and a three-course barbecue – you could be forgiven for thinking you were in Brazil.

But for anyone not lucky enough to land a plane ticket to South America to watch the World Cup, a Fylde coast cafe is hosting something a little closer to home.

The pop-up restaurant will see the Park View Cafe in Lytham transformed into a South American carnival for three nights next week – and organisers say it is the first event of its kind in the town.

The party will start when Brazil kick off the World Cup against Croatia on Thursday. It will run each night until Saturday June 14, when England launch their campaign against Italy.

The games will be screened on a large plasma screen television.

BBQ Brasilia was dreamt up by two St Annes residents who have launched a new business aimed at bringing new food and drink to the Fylde coast.

Shannon Kuspira, 40, said a passion for fine food sparked the idea to set up the business – Bite Club –with Grace Hepwood, 41.

She said: “This is the first event we have done together. Our goal is to hold one a month at different venues and on different themes.

“This will be an authentic Brazilian barbecue – it’s not just burgers and hotdogs.

“There’s going to be a real Brazilian party vibe. We don’t want people to think it’s just about the football – it’s going to have a carnival feel as well.”

The traditional Caipirinha cocktail will be served at the events – made from the rum-like spirit cachaca, sugar and lime.

The pair even visited Nigel Haworth’s Michelin-starred Northcote restaurant in the Ribble Valley for inspiration.

Ms Kuspira said: “Nigel said Brazilian food is incredibly trendy right now.

“We talked through our menu and they gave us some fantastic advice on the best cuts of meat to use and how to cook it to get it really tender and full of flavour.”

The evenings will consist of a three-course barbecue served to tables, followed by a DJ and late night bar.

Ms Hepwood added: “We’re grateful to Cath Powell at Park View 4U, who’s been instrumental in giving us the opportunity to hold our first pop-up in such a perfect venue. She’s been enthusiastic and encouraging all the way.”

Tickets for the events are available online at www.bbqbrasilia.eventbrite.co.uk
