They may have starred in ice productions the world over and have a host of medals, trophies and TV appearances to their credit but have found their forte in sharing their passion for ice dance with others and bringing on emerging talents in Blackpool.

The ice dancing class Learn to Dance with Natalia and Alexei established at the Pleasure Beach Arena by two former Hot Ice stars is proving a real hotbed of talent.

It’s been running for six years and in that time pupils have won 10 British championships and umpteen more placings in competitions.

It’s a great chance for already proficient skaters to not just learn ice dance moves but meet and socialise with others.

Cathreen Cowell, who joined the class at the very start has been crowned Solo Ice Dance Adult British Champion five times.

Another pupil Nicola Guerin is now a four times Solo Ice Dance Adult British Champion. Also this year Nicola and Chris Guerin became Adult British Champions as a couple. Nicola also took a silver medal when the class recently competed in the British Championship in Sheffield.

All in all Natalia and Alexei’s class bagged eight medals, three gold, four silver, one bronze and are now preparing to take on the British Solo Ice Dance Championship by storm in Sheffield again next week (June 22-26).

Natalia and Alexei have both appeared, separately, in the TV series Dancing on Ice, Natalia paired with goalkeeper David Seaman and newsreader Phil Gayle, and Alexei winning the Spanish version of the show with Spanish gymnast Almudena Cid.
