Here’s looking forward to a flipping good pancake day!

Participants are being invited to take part in teams of four as a pancake race at Lytham’s Park View 4U playing fields is repeated next Tuesday, March 4, after success on its debut last year.

And an old tradition of a Promenade pancake race in St Annes is being revived by the Holiday Association of Lytham St Annes.

At Park View, organisers are eager for an even more successful event than that which attracted five eager teams last year.

Quartets representing Fylde Council, Booths supermarket and local schools have already signed up and anyone else wishing to field a team of four should contact Cath Powell at the Park View cafe for details on (01253) 741955 or at cath@parkvciew4U,org.uk.

Cath said: “Pancake racing is a great tradition and we are really looking forward to a successful event.

“It went down very well last year and we are sure it will be even bigger than better this time.”

Participants for the St Annes event should gather at the Cafe on the Pier at the revised time of 10.15am am with the race starting at 11.
