A sequenced spectacular

It was strictly sequence dancing on the floor of the Empress Ballroom as hundreds of competitors did their best to impress at a four-day festival.

The Sequence Dance Festival saw competitors, in couples or as individuals, perform old time dancing in the world-famous surrounds, to the music of the Empress Ballroom Orchestra.

More than 300 couples are taking part in the festival at the Winter Gardens, starting with juveniles and juniors on Saturday, performing both ballroom and Latin dances.

Older amateurs had the opportunity take part in a tea dance yesterday.

Today dance teachers will unveil new steps, for them to be practiced and perfected ready to be showcased by competitors at next year’s dance festival.
