More leading comedy names for Lowther

Two more top comedians are set to take to the stage of Lowther Pavilion next year.

Russell Kane will make his Lytham debut on Saturday, March 4, while Ed Byrne is set for a third visit to Lowther on Tuesday, November 7. Tickets for both performances go on sale tomorrow from 10am and brisk demand is expected.

The latest comedy coups for the Lytham theatre come hot on the heels of the announcement that funnyman Rob Beckett will play the venue on February 22.

An appearance by Al Murray – best known in his ‘Pub Landlord’ persona – on March 11 is already sold out, while other top comedy names, Iain Stirling and Chris Ramsey, are set to play there on March 31 and April 6 respectively.

Jason Manford, whose sellout Lowther show in 2013 began the cavalcade of comedy at the Lytham venue, is also set to return to town in April, headlining the comedy night at the St George’s Festival in a grand marquee on Lytham Green on April 20.

Lowther trustee Dan Creasey, who has played a key role in attracting the top comedy names to the theatre, said: “It is very exciting for us that the Pavilion is now attracting so many top comedians and is fast becoming a respected comedy venue putting Lytham on the map as the place to be.”

The Lowther date for Russell Kane is part of his Right Man, Wrong Age national tour and tickets are priced £17.50.

The multi-award winning comedian, presenter, actor, author and scriptwriter is best known as the host of three series of TV’s Live At The Electric, regular appearances on Live At Apollo, Celebrity Juice and I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! Now! He was recently a co-host on the BBC Children In Need charity telethon.
