The project is being coordinated by Fleetwood Together, a group of volunteers which includes West View Community Association, the town’s churches, with support from many other groups and organisations in the town.

Recipients for the parcels include those on the books of Fleetwood Food Bank and the Mustard Seed project, but also includes other people struggling during the lockdown.

And that number is growing, says Shaun MacNeill, of West View Community Association, who is helping to coordinate the project.

He said: “We have seen the number of parcels sent out go from 80 a week to 300.”

If anyone is able to help with funds or food, phone Shaun on 07889 133445, while if anyone needs support they should phone (01253) 774313,
