The Lancashire building services engineering company is a long term supporter of Brian House and decided that in addition to its ongoing support, some good should come from the

absence of its own staff Christmas celebration, which, like so many others, was cancelled due to the Covid-19 restrictions.

This offered Ameon the opportunity to add a bit more sparkle to the festive period for the hospices, which have seen donations fall as a consequence of Covid-19’s impact on the wider

economy.

Ameon contracts director Rod Bunce, said: “We hear stories every day about Covid’s impact on the UK economy, and the NHS, but perhaps not receiving as much profile is the plight of

hospices like Trinity and Brian House, who still rely largely on the generosity of corporate bodies and members of the public to help fund the tremendous and vital work that they do.

“That’s why, at a time when money is tight for everyone and government support is spread too thinly to make a difference for them, we were delighted to be able to add further funds.

“We’re also sponsoring the Trinity Hospice Christmas Tree Collection, which should raise a considerable sum during the New Year, so we hope that our involvement and that of other

companies will be a valuable help at this taxing time.”

Ameon’s donation will be used to sponsor the hospices’ annual raffle mailing, which is a vital fundraising vehicle for the services of Trinity and Brian House.

Janet Atkins, corporate partnership manager for the hospices, said: “We are so grateful to everyone at Ameon for this very generous donation.

“This incredible sum of money will be used to help us reach every single person on the Fylde coast who needs our outstanding expert care, either through Trinity at the hospice, in the

hospital, in their own homes, or through Brian House, which looks after our area’s most fragile children and young people.

“This year has been so difficult for everyone in our community, especially those in local businesses, and here at the hospice we are looking at a £1.5million fundraising shortfall.

“Donations like this really mean so much to us.”
