Here are 7 Fylde coast walks where you can enjoy the spring weather, as well as a tasty reward in one of these fine establishments:
1. Stanley Park
It's an old favourite for runners and walkers, but there's nothing like a walk around Stanley Park when the sun is shining. And to top off your visit you can take a break at the park's art deco cafe, or visit the No. 3 pub, which is only a short walk away.
2. Skippool Creek
This Skippool Creek walk is considered to be relatively easy, along level ground with only one short climb. The route follows tracks, roads, pavements and field paths with two pubs close by. Thornton Lodge is currently closed, but nearby is the River Wyre pub which opened for outdoor service on April 12, and is now taking bookings.
3. Fleetwood seafront
The walk along Fleetwood promenade from the Lower Lighthouse to Rossall Point is approximately 1.3 miles. Along the route are the Marine Hall gardens, boating lakes and numerous cafs, kiosks and pubs, including Fleetwood Beach Kiosk and the North Euston Hotel.
4. Cleveleys seafront
Walking from the Rossall Beach Promenade car park and finishing at the top of Victoria Road West in Cleveleys is a 20 minute stroll that take you to a number of cafés in the town, and is only a 1 minute walk from Kay's Fish and Chips along Rough Lea Road.
5. Blackpool Central to South Pier
If you'd like your walk to end with a tasty treat, then the scenic walk between Blackpool's historic Central and South Piers is ideal for you. The 1.2 mile stretch of the Golden Mile is full of fantastic chippys and pubs, with a visit to Notarianni Ices a must for any visitors to the town.
6. Lytham and St Annes seafront
The 1.8 mile trip from St Annes' Pier to Fairhaven Lake in Lytham takes 37 minutes at an average pace, but for those with a little more energy you can stroll to Lytham Green in just over an hour. Along the route are The Queen's Hotel and the Beach Café.
