Youngsters from across the Fylde coast are enjoying a fun-filled summer of sport at Lytham YMCA’s holiday club.

The club, which runs throughout every school holiday, gives children aged four to 11 the chance to sink their teeth into a range of different activities, from football and bowling to BMX biking.

Tim Slater, who runs the holiday club, said: “We’re helping kids to keep healthy and engaged, and encouraging them to develop new skills as well as building on the ones they already have.

“It also helps them socially - they’re always making new friends here.

“The children really love it. They have a real say on what they are doing here and they always pick what activities we’re going to be doing.

“It’s incredibly rewarding work. There’s nothing better than having a child come up to you at the end of the day and say they really enjoyed it. It’s great to see the same faces coming in over and over again.”

The Lytham YMCA holiday club on Mythop Road costs £16 per day for members and £18 per day for non-members. People who wish to book their child a place at the club call (01253) 739166.
