The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) in Lytham will close on August 25.

A spokesman for RBS said: “We are closing this branch because the number of transactions have reduced by 21 per cent since 2011 and only 65 people use the branch on a regular weekly basis.

“More than 40 per cent of these customers already use other branches in the area.”

The spokesman added the bank hoped to place staff in other branches in the area.

People wanting to pay money in, withdraw cash or check balances can visit the Post office branch in Park Street.

There are also nine free to use bank machines in the area, with the nearest RBS branch three miles away in St Annes.

RBS confirmed earlier this month its Layton branch would close later this year.
