Beauty queen's 15,000ft leap for good cause
Miss Blackpool Galaxy Joanna Johnson, 23, is taking on extreme sports - including a 15,000 ft skydive - to raise cash for the Christie charity, which support pioneering research into life-threatening diseases such as cancer.
She said: “The Christie charity is the chosen charity for the competition, and you can do whatever you like to raise money.

“My dad lived with that for 10 years before he died last year, so it’s quite close to my heart.”
Joanna, who works as a hairdresser, will take the plunge at Cockerham Sands in Lancaster in April.
But before that she will be speeding across Snowdonia on a zip-wire.

“I’m nervous about the zip wire because I’ve never done anything like that before.
“My friends think I’m crazy but a lot of them are really supportive.”
Joanna, who lives on Wilvere Drive in Norbreck, was crowned Miss Blackpool in August.
