Bikers set to spring into action for free

Bike fans can get in gear for a new series of Sky Ride Local rides.

A series of guided bike rides have been scheduled for spring by British Cycling and Sky in partnership with Blackpool Council, Lancashire County Council.

As part of a campaign to get more people cycling for fun and fitness, Sky Ride Local rides are free and guided by British Cycling trained Ride Leaders and cover a range routes.

Coun Graham Cain, Cabinet Secretary for Blackpool Council, said: “With warmer weather now hopefully on its way, this is an ideal opportunity for people in Blackpool to dust off their bikes and enjoy the benefits of cycling with these great events. You can also hire a bike from any of our sports centres to get involved if needed. ”
