A consultation period is underway which will focus on mitigating the need for any compulsory redundancies and consider alternatives such as redeployment, to ensure we retain our highly-talented employees wherever possible.”

Unions are involved, with one Unison rep saying talks were in the earliest stages. He said most of the jobs at risk were in student support and well-being.

Last week, The Gazette revealed how a number of roles at schools across Blackpool were under threat.

The Fylde Coast Academy Trust is cutting three roles between Westminster and Unity Academy’s nursery.

Six people took voluntary redundancy at South Shore Academy.

And six business support staff have been hit by a ‘restructure’ at Highfield Leadership Academy, also in South Shore.
