Blackpool's Winter Gardens exhibition will set the Scene for movie fans

Movie fans can experience the magic of the movies first hand at a new exhibition.

Scene – a three-week exhibition at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens featuring stunning fan made replica sets, props and vehicles including Knight Rider’s Kitt, a Star Wars speeder and a time travelling Back To The Future DeLorean – opens on Saturday July 9.

The Pavilion and Horseshoe theatres within the Winter Gardens plays host to more than 20 different sets of a combination of fan-made replica props and costumes, along with movie cars that have been used in exhibitions and conventions across the country.

Visitors will be taken on an inter-galactic journey from deep space to Jurassic Park, through New York City with the Ghostbusters, rallied across Route 66 with Lightning McQueen from Cars before hitting 88mphwith Marty McFly and Mad Max.

Michael Williams, managing director of the Winter Gardens, said: “This really is a treat for fans of some of the most iconic films and TV shows of the past 40 years.

“There really is nothing like this anywhere in the UK and this is going to be a fun and exciting event for all the family.

“Whether you are a fan of Star Wars, Back To The Future, Jurassic Park, Iron Man, Indiana Jones, Dr Who or Ghostbusters you are not going to want to miss this.”

As well as the expertly created exhibits, special events will take place during each of the weekends of Scene’s Winter Gardens run between July 9-30.

Adult tickets are £9.95, children £6.95 and a family ticket (for up to five people) is £30.
