The 2015 festival raised £36,000 for the hospice which serves the Fylde and some star-studded memorabilia which goes up for auction from Monday is set to boost the coffers further ahead of this year’s eagerly-waited entertainment extravaganza.

At last August’s Friday night 80s v 90s concert, Trinity gave four of the acts taking part a blank canvas and a set of pens and asked them to ‘do us a doodle’.

The result was four little artworks courtesy of Billy Ocean, Venga Boys, Chesney Hawkes and East 17, and they are now up for grabs, with proceeds going specifically to the Brian House Children’s Hospice which is part of the Trinity complex at Bispham.

Ready to hang up, the pictures are a truly unique memento of the Festival.

Linzi Young, Trinity Hospice’s head of fundraising, who was at the launch of the 2016 Festival with colleagues, said: “We had no idea what would happen when we sent the canvas and pens back stage, but these four doodles were the result, left in the dressing rooms for us at the end of the night.

“They look great together and make a memento that’s absolutely unique.”
