Not only did this dress cause boutique owner Charlotte Partington to turn heads at Ladies Day at Aintree, it has also proved popular with local fashionistas too.
After Charlotte was pictured in the striking floral print dress, designed by Dessy Group, and word got round about it, women have flocked to Lottie’s Bridal Boutique, in Ansdell.
Charlotte attended Ladies Day, at Aintree Racecourse, with local networking group Pink Link Ladies.
And she was delighted to be picked out as a finalist with nine other women, for the Style Award best dressed contest.
Charlotte said: “It was a super day full of fizz, fun and of course, racing. I’m always aware when I attend balls, functions or weddings, what I wear might be acknowledged.
“I’m by no means saying people pay that close attention, but I think being a bridal shop owner, there is always a certain expectation.
“We attend an annual bridal show in Harrogate each year and I knew when we went last September and saw this particular Dessy Group dress, that was my dress for the races. Its striking floral print and gorgeous shape was so me, and everything I love about Dessy. Fabulous cuts, gorgeous fabric and a vast choice of colours are just a few of the things they are brilliant at.
“I teamed my dress with a fascinator from Felicity Hat Hire, in Penwortham, and my fabulous friend Duncan Fisher Hair Designer came and did my hair that morning.
“I opted for fuchsia pink accessories (not only is this my favourite colour, but it looked fab with the dress).
“We arrived at Aintree quite early, when the queues for pictures were fairly short and so we entered for best dressed. More for a keepsake picture, than anything else.
“When we returned to the lawn area where the competition was being held, the queues were huge, with heaps of women looking incredible. At that point, I completely forgot about the competition as everyone looked stunning. I was rather shocked to see my face on the big screen as a finalist.
“It took me completely by surprise – what a compliment. I was humbled and amazed to be up on the stage with nine gorgeously dressed women.”
