Brian Conley is the latest star comedian heading for Lytham.
He will be at Lowther Pavilion on Thursday, March 10 next year and ticket go on sale a week tomorrow, October 16.
Conley, 54, is also a TV presenter, singer and actor who has also made a big name for himself in musical theatre. He recently played the title role on an 11-month national tour of the musical Barnum.
At the peak of his TV career, when The Brian Conley Show was a prime Saturday evening attraction on ITV, he was the highest-paid male television personality in the UK.
In coming to the Lowther stage, Conley follows on the footsteps of the likes of Jason Manford, John Bishop, Milton Jones and locally-raised Jenny Eclair, all of whom have played sold out shows at the Lytham theatre.
Jones played his second show of the year there last night, while Eclair’s show tomorrow has sold out and she is to return on March 9 - the evening before Conley’s performance.
Irish star comedian Ed Byrne’s show on November 28 is already sold out and he is back on the Lowther stage on April 15.
“We’ve had a huge success with contemporary stand-up comedians at the Lowther but Brian Conley is so much more than a comedian – he’s a one-man variety show!” enthused Lowther general manager Roger McCann.
“I first saw him giving a mesmerising performance in the West End musical, Jolson, and his energy on stage in Barnum is breathtaking. I’m really excited to be bringing him to the Lowther.”
Singing stars Russell Watson and Jonathan Antoine are also among the leading names heading for Lowther shortly and Roger added: “It’s wonderful to welcome such star performers here and we have been delighted with the response from audiences.”
Tickets for Brian Conley’s show on March 10, at £23, go on sale on October 16, with pre-sale to Friends of Lowther Pavilion from the day before. Details from (01253) 794221.
