Attack breached man’s bail conditions

A man granted bail by a Crown Court judge used his freedom time to attack his partner.

A court heard that Andrew Wheeler was facing an allegation of assault on the same woman at Preston Crown Court.

He was given bail pending the hearing of the case.

Bail conditions forbade him from going to the village of Freckleton or having contact with the woman.

However, District Judge Jeff Brailsford sitting at Blackpool Magistrates Court heard how Wheeler, 43, of St Patrick’s Road North, St Annes broke both those conditions.

Wheeler admitted assault on New Year’s Day and sentence on him was adjourned by the District Judge so reports can be prepared.

He was remanded in custody.
