Detectives are appealing for information to identify a man who they want to speak to.

It follows an attack last month when a 30-year-old man was left needing medical treatment for his injures.

Police say the victim was on a night out with friends at Revolution, on Market Street, when he was approached by a man.

The attacker punched him in the head and fractured his cheek.

Det Con Abi Finch, of Blackpool CID, said: “This appears to be an unprovoked attack on a man simply enjoying a night out with friends.”

Police say the attack took place inside the club, at around 12.45am on May 2 but have only now released the images of a man they want to speak to.

Detectives have so far been unable to identify the man and are hoping someone will recognise him from the picures.

Det Con Finch added: “We are keen to trace the man pictured in the CCTV images as he may have important information to assist us with our enquiries. I would urge anyone who may have witnessed what happened, or knows about the identity of the man, to get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting log number 1062 of May 2.
