The car's driver complained his steering felt funny, before police allege he blew over the legal drink drive limit and was arrested.

The Road Policing Unit posted a picture of a car parked in the middle of the road - with both wheels appearing to point outwards - shortly before 3am, and said on Twitter: "Driver in St Annes complained his steering felt funny.

"Arrested after providing a positive alcohol reading."

The driver is understood to have been taken into custody for a further breath test.

The Gazette is working to get more information on the incident.
