Son forced to live in tent smashed mum's windows

A mum got so fed up with her son's behaviour she bought him a tent so he could live in her back garden.

But even that did not stop 21-year-old Lee Bennett from causing trouble, a court was told.

Bennett, of Hawes Side Lane, became frustrated with his living conditions and smashed two windows at his mother’s house.

Bennett, who makes and repairs driveways, admitted criminal damage

Martine Connah, prosecuting, told magistrates: “Bennett was making himself a nuisance living at his mother’s home.

“So she bought him a tent and he was living in her back garden. While she was out he smashed the windows.

“She now wants a restraining order.”

In a victim’s impact statement Bennett’s mother – said:” He causes disturbances and gives me verbal abuse.I don’t want my two daughters growing up with this.”

Bennett was given an eight-week jail term suspended for a year and a one-year restraining order.
