A man hit a woman in the face during a disabled bay parking rage row.

Alan Harman, 39, of Collyhurst Avenue, South Shore, pleaded guilty to assault.

Adrian Hollamby, prosecuting, said a 35-year-old woman with her disabled mum, eight-year-old daughter and her sister in the car was about to park in a disabled bay in Blackpool’s Central Car Park on September 11 at 6.20pm.

Harman and his disabled partner pulled into the space; the woman tooted her horn. Words were exchanged and Harman then hit her on the cheek.

Harman claimed the woman verbally abused and provoked him.

He was fined £40 with £40 costs and ordered to pay £50 compensation to his victim with a £150 court charge plus £20 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.
