He has written to Lancashire County Council asking that the 40mph on Clifton Drive North, opposite the Coastal Dunes housing developments, be dropped to 30, following a recent series of accidents.
Residents of the homes on the former Pontins site have contacted Mr Menzies to raise several issues including the accidents, speed of traffic, and amount of parking along the road.

“The growth of these two developments at Coastal Dunes means this is now clearly a residential area and should be treated as such by the highways authority.
“I have already asked LCC to carry out a speed survey and to look at the amount of parking which limits the width of the road, especially near crossing islands; I am pleased to see that survey will be taking place in the coming weeks.
“However, following a further collision on the road, I have now asked for a reduction in the speed outside the developments. It is incredibly difficult for drivers to turn right out of the two entrances onto Clifton Drive with traffic flying past at often far more than 40mph.

A spokesman for Lancashire County Council said: "In response to concerns about traffic speeds on Clifton Drive North we have previously provided temporary signing to remind drivers that they should choose to drive at an appropriate speed.
"We have arranged for a new speed survey to be carried out towards the end of March to see whether the more recent developments in the area have affected traffic speeds.
"Once the survey results are back we will use them to help determine whether further measures may be necessary. The police are also aware of these concerns and are considering whether mobile speed enforcement would be appropriate in this location."
