Fairhaven talks

The Fairhaven pub, Clifton Drive, Fairhaven, has been closed for more than a month after the former landlord Nigel Wild was forced to leave following spiralling rental costs.

‘To Let’ signs have now gone up outside the well-known local and eaterie, as owners Enterprise Inns search for a new long-term lease owner.

Tara Wittin, from Enterprise Inns, explained: “We are now looking for a new landlord for the pub, and the new lease will be for an extended period of over 10 years.

“Our regional manager may also be planning to use a holding company for the time being to allow the pub to reopen, especially as it is such a busy time of year.”

According to Enterprise Inns, the rent for the busy pub and restaurant will be £62,000 per year, with an ingoing funding of £41,350. However these figures are negotiable.

“There are a few people in talks with our regional manager,” said Tara. “However no business plans have been submitted yet,”

Enterprise Inns plc was formed in 1991. It also has the Halfway House, opposite Blackpool Airport, available for a new lease or tenancy.
