Families pay tribute to bike death couple
Motorcyclist Patrick Cresswell, 46, and his 25-year-old pillion passenger Suzanne Smith – a mum-of-two – died following a head-on collision with a tractor at a notorious accident blackspot.
The couple, from Marton, were pronounced dead at the scene on Mythop Road in Staining on Sunday.

Hide AdMs Smith’s father, Sean Kerr, today said his eldest daughter would be “sadly missed” by her family. She had two young daughters.
He said: “Suzanne was my oldest daughter of five children. She was a bit of a tomboy and had a passion for music.
“She leaves behind two beautiful girls aged three and seven and I love them all very much.
“Suzanne lost her mum in 2007, she had lived with her mum and was deeply affected by her death.

Hide Ad“Suzanne’s death has left me in daze, I don’t think its sunk in. Suzanne will be sadly missed by all of us.
“I wish she was still here.”
The crash happened just before 4pm on Sunday.
The road was closed between Marton Mere and Chain Lane until Sunday evening while accident investigators tried to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Patrick Cresswell’s father, Barry Cresswell, said: “Patrick was his own man, I will miss him dearly.
“I always thought he would bury me and not the other way around.”

Hide AdThe couple had been travelling in convoy with two other motorcyclists when the crash happened.
The tractor driver was described by police as “shaken but uninjured” while the rider of the second motorcycle was also unhurt.
