MUSIC fans from all over the country will be flocking to Lytham Proms this summer to watch their favourite stars from the 1980s perform.
The Here and Now concert on August 3 featuring the likes of Rick Astley, Bananarama and The Real Thing has attracted an unprecedented level of interest — to the delight of St Annes-based promoters Cuffe and Taylor Management.
“We have had online ticket applications from as far afield as the Outer Hebrides and Portsmouth and we have never seen anything like it,” said a Cuffe and Taylor spokesman. “This concert has captured the public imagination like no other event we have promoted. Fans are really eager to see their favourite 80s stars.”
Toyah, Belinda Carlisle, T’Pau and Curiosity Killed the Cat are also on the Here and Now bill and the discounted ticket price of £24.50 only continues until midnight tonight (Thurs). After that, the price increases to £29.50. Details from www.lythamproms.co.uk or 0844 888 9991.
Tenor Alfie Boe is playing Lytham Proms the following evening, August 4, while a headliner for Sunday, August 5 is to be announced soon.
Meanwhile, Cuffe and Taylor have announced two X-Factor favourites for their Queen’s Jubilee event at Speke Hall in June, which already features Russell Watson and Status Quo. Singer Marcus Collins, who came second on the hit ITV show last year, and fellow contestant Craig Colton, are playing as part of three dates being staged by the company at the Liverpool venue.
