PRIDE of the Fylde is back!

The Lytham St Annes Express campaign, launched last year, gave a huge boost to local charities and groups - in recognition of their sterling community work.

And today we are pleased to announce the highly successful competition is back for 2011, again kindly sponsored by New Fylde Housing.

It means a great chance for local groups to win a share in a £3,000 cash jackpot. Any school, charity, community group, scout troop, drama group, sports club or church organisation can bid for a grant which will could make a real difference.

Last year’s overall winner was St Annes-based Home Start who won a massive £2,000 prize. Second was Funpod - Fylde Unite Network Positive on Disability who received £1,000 and £500 grants went to Lytham-based Streetwise Youth Group and St Peter’s Kindergarten, Lytham.

New Fylde Housing plays a fundamental role in developing sustainable communities. It works with local community groups throughout Fylde to improve neighbourhoods for the benefit of local people.

New Fylde Housing Managing Director Eric Tamanis, said: “New Fylde Housing recognises the positive impact that community projects have on neighbourhoods throughout Fylde and are delighted to support the Pride of the Fylde awards for a second year. We received loads of great entries last year and are hoping for the same this time.”
