Award winning Fylde Coast Players’ production of ‘The 39 Steps’ is afar cry from John Buchan’s classic spy thriller novel, because the whole thing is played for laughs.

The production includes all the legendary scenes from the book and Hitchcock’s film: the chases, the gunshots, the hero, the villains, the romance and a cast in sinister raincoats!

This fast paced, thrill filled, comedy version of the classic 39 Steps story will not easily be forgotten.

Director, Heather Cartmell, said: “The main problem for the actors has been keeping a straight face and not ‘corpsing’.

“But everyone has really enjoyed the experience and I’m sure the audience will as well.”

The large cast includes Kieran O’Doherty as Richard Hannay with Andy Cooke and Paul Lomax in supporting roles.

So many questions are raised! What are the mysterious 39 Steps?

All these questions, and more, will be answered from Wednesday, June 27 to Saturday, June 30 at Lowther Pavilion.
