Fire starts in bedroom at sheltered housing

A fire broke out at a sheltered housing scheme in Blackpool.

Crews from Blackpool fire station were called to Gorton Street when a fire alarm went off at 8.40pm on Friday.

They found a fire in a bedroom and evacuated the property.

It had been started by linen placed over a light, which had caused a lot of smoke.

The blaze did not spread and no-one was hurt.
