His career has taken him from Britain’s Got Talent to Sport Relief and Little Britain, but earlier this week a famous face dropped in on Lytham.
TV star David Walliams, alongside supermodel wife Lara Stone, visited Capri Grand Cafe and Bar in Henry Street on Monday. The popular entertainer visited for lunch.
Manager Richard Shorrock said: “He popped in for a bit of food with his wife. Our restaurant manager had a picture with him. It is not the first time he has been in. He must have some property in the area. We get quite a few celebrities popping in – we’ve had former England cricketer Andrew Flintoff and former Manchester United manager David Moyes, as well as Fleetwood Town chairman Andy Pilley, recently.”
He also popped into Lytham bookshop Plackitt and Booth, who tweeted: “So excited the lovely @davidwalliams just been in our bookshop – we’d love you to sign some books!”
After visiting Lytham, the comedian tried rides on the Pleasure Beach at Blackpool and visited Fleetwood, where he enjoyed fish and chips at Granada Fish Bar. Manager Steve Lynton said: “He was exploring Fleetwood and called in for fish and chips. They ate in the restaurant and then went off for ice-cream at the kiosk on the seafront. He’s a really great guy and his wife was a wonderful lady. She took the photo of us and he was happy to have his picture taken with some of the customers.”
