Fylde business aims to cut hospital waiting time

The Health Community Partnership, a Community Interest Company (CIC), is launching the joint venture agreement, Health TV.

Chairman Steve Pye said: “The purpose behind this is to look into projects that will not only benefit the Public and Private healthcare sectors, but will also reduce the need for patients to visit their GPs or Accident and Emergency departments.

“Healthcare Technology is advancing at such a rate, that it has become difficult for clinicians in the health sector to identify, monitor, review and recommend new technologies, medicines, treatments and products for their patients.”

Health conferences, exhibitions and events take place all over the UK where experts and health sector suppliers can discuss, present and showcase the latest technological healthcare improvements and innovations that are more cost effective than those already in existence.

But healthcare specialists are often too busy to attend these events and time to search the internet or read articles and magazines for the latest news and views is at a premium.

Mr Pye added: “To reduce the burdens on the health sector and to make sense of new and existing healthcare technologies and treatments, Health TV has designed and developed two online digital channel hubs.

“They have been designed to help healthcare professionals get the latest news on technological advances, medicine research and practices at the touch of a button.”

One hub will be a “members only” portal, (www.health-community.tv) that will contain videos of healthcare related news, information, events, conferences and exhibitions, that are broadcast live and recorded for viewing on demand. This will provide speedy, direct access to the latest in healthcare information for busy individuals in the health sectors.

In addition, the main website Health TV (www.healthuk.tv) has been developed to equip patients with supportive information enabling them to take responsibility for their own health and wellbeing, rather than making the GP or hospital the primary option.

The business has 12 full time and 10 part-time members of staff.

The Office of National Statistics says between 2015 and 2016 there were 22,920,435 A&E attendances in the UK - almost one in three of the UK population. In the same period, it was also reported more than 61,000 patients missed GP appointments on average every month, resulting in patients waiting longer to make an appointment.

Health organisations will also be able to promote their campaigns on both the Health TV and Health Community TV Channels – for free – to a large targeted audience .

The channel will be launched at 9am on Friday 24 February at 9am.
