Get involved in bring art to life in Lytham

The £38,000 project, which is being led by Fylde Council in collaboration with the newly-established Arts Partnership for Fylde, is offering a host of trained volunteering opportunities to members of the public, as well as final year arts degree students and recent arts graduates.

Artist support, marketing and publicity and manning the information hub alongside Lytham Festival staff, are among a variety of volunteer roles up for grabs for the event, which takes place between July 20 and August 14.

Christine Stringfellow, lead artist for the project, said: “This is an amazing learning opportunity for Fylde and Lancashire final year students and recent graduates.  All aspects of Counterpart will be open to them and there is also the possibility of working alongside Lytham Festival team.”

Coun Tim Ashton, chairman of the Arts Partnership for Fylde and vice-chairman of Fylde Council’s tourism and leisure committee, said, “The people of Fylde have always been very generous with their time in support of community initiatives, so we are hoping to attract people with an interest in art who are keen to develop new skills and meet new people.”
