Have your say on health services across the Fylde coast
People living in Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre are being asked to help review two more clinical policies used by the NHS in the area.
NHS Blackpool Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Fylde and Wyre CCG have joined the other eight CCGs across Lancashire and South Cumbria to review their policies to make them fair across the region.
The two policies cover the commissioning laser eye surgery and the use of grommets to treat glue ear in under 12s.
Dr Amanda Doyle, a Blackpool GP and chief clinical officer at NHS Blackpool CCG, said: “CCGs are responsible for commissioning a wide range of clinical services. In some areas this also includes commissioning GP services.
“We need to ensure this is done in an open, fair and transparent manner but in so doing we must consider the limited resources we have.
“A key role for the CCG is to develop clinical policies that help us make decisions about the use of those limited resources.
I would encourage any resident with an interest in these policies to visit the CCG website and have their say.”
